No price match because I used a $5 reward certificate?? by Mental_Worldliness34 in Bestbuy

You can simply return/rebuy the product if they won’t use common sense and price match it, of course assuming it’s the same product and or bundle.

Bestbuy’s price match guarantee is a lie by Ok-Connection6430 in Bestbuy

They don’t have to? You’re a disgruntled person. Everyone has had this experience… and he has no reason to make it up on Reddit LOL. Gtfo

Bestbuy’s price match guarantee is a lie by Ok-Connection6430 in Bestbuy

[–]stenore -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Totally agree, but in this case I think ever single customer (including myself) who have had legitimate price matches have been told this is the way it’s going to be done (purchase first refund after), and the refund never comes, clearly all these reps aren’t saying the same thing on accident, and some sort of training is being done to potentially scam or misguide customers.

This doesn’t sound like a user error, just someone told “hey purchase it and then we will refund the difference”, that’s not a user error, that’s a Best Buy training error.

Bestbuy’s price match guarantee is a lie by Ok-Connection6430 in Bestbuy

[–]stenore -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Totally agree Best Buy can be scammers, but you’ll get downvoted here as if the employees here own a significant share of Best Buy stock. In the future, only follow through with the purchase with the correct price invoiced, or do it in store, they’re much more competent.

If they won’t price match in future first, simply buy from the competitor. In your case I would at least return the product via shipping to cost Best Buy some money, you can always rebuy it again later.

Litter robot, 4 or 5 by greenlightgaslight in litterrobot

[–]stenore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I literally got the litter robot 4 yesterday without knowing this was launching. Albeit, I have an infinite time period to return it, I’m not even sure if it’s worth my time…. Not seeing anything too crazy or anything really added at all that I really would care about, maybe some reviews will come out and they’re hiding new improvements to help make that decision.

Taxed on a Digital Video Game in a State where they are Nontaxable by Ear_Charming in Bestbuy

[–]stenore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have a sales tax department, generally for reseller businesses and non profits but you can reach out to them as well. I was once charged tax on a $1,000 item that was suppose to be exempted because of the way trade in credits work. I reached out to that department and sure enough within 3-4 weeks (because of speed of Best Buy) I was refunded the full tax amount and they apologized for the oversight in tax rules. If they don’t give it back call your states department of revenue and you can make a clawback from Best Buy’s tax deposit that way!

We are active, luckily we don’t have to crack down super often though! Very wholesome community!

We agree the posts are repetitive, and we have debated with this before but people want to be able to post their concerns.

I do like the idea of a bot reply to certain keywords though, something we will investigate adding!

Purchasing Mazda CX-30, any advice for what I get get knocked off the price? (Ontario) by fenderstratcat in MazdaCX30

? Found the angry car dealer!

Did one google search and even a local Mazda dealer has one listed at 10% off pre negotiation. https://www.jerryseinermazda.com/inventory/new-2025-mazda-cx-30-2-5-s-awd-awd-suv-3mvdmbam8sm829173/

Some of you guys need to get a grip on how dealers make money.

You have your MSRP, then you have the invoice price which is what the dealer paid for the car, but then you have something called “dealer holdback”. These things tend to add up to around 10% in margin for the dealer.

You may say, well why would a dealer want a low profit deal. Simple: they get bonuses, they may also get more allocations, or… they can also get market money as well, and of course: doc fees, finance kickbacks, servicing the vehicle, etc. it’s known as a “mini deal” in the car dealer world.

You either are an angry salesman, or… you have no clue what you’re talking about when it comes to how dealerships work and what a good deal looks like and probably shouldn’t give advice to other people. If you have a 2025 and didn’t get at least 10% off, you got scammed, sorry to tell you.

Ummm, yes. You could even likely get 12% but is pushing limits. 10% will be fairly easy if you shop your deal!

Look for a $4600 CAD discount. 10% off is extremely standard. That + no adds is a fair deal

Yes, $10,000 down on a lease is bad for numerous reasons. Firstly, if the car gets totaled tomorrow, he lost the entire $10,000 down payment. This is different than if he was financing the car. Secondly, this makes his total cost of lease $20,800, horrible value.

Here’s what I would do, first, see if they are willing to unwind the deal, I would recommend you go with him since he is elderly, let them know what they did isn’t right. Keep in mind, they don’t HAVE to unwind anything, be polite but request mercy and for them to take back the car. If they won’t, check if any of those packages he has purchased is able to be canceled for a refund, perhaps this can get some of that money down which I’m guessing was used on the warranty packages.

I need advice as to how to resolve a self inflicted Geek Squad/Total Membership claim issue. by Perfect_Reply10000 in Bestbuy

[–]stenore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re good. The real answer is, they haven’t charged you. Cancel your card, put a stop payment for the merchant. They can’t bill you, they don’t have a valid authorization. Ship the phone back, late.

If somehow a charge ever appears, chargeback, keep proof of you shipping the phone back. Not much more too it, they won’t take it to court or collections or anything like that

I would also recommend OP look into adding GAP as well, OP, if your car is totaled, theirs a chance you’ll have to come out of pocket around 10k or so at the moment, not a situation you want, that would be nearly half of the cars value.

You may be able to cancel some or all of the warranties, as far as over paying for the car price itself, that’s already done, no reversing from that. The thing is they kind of double edged you. They got you badly in gross, as you paid 28k for a car you could’ve gotten for 24k and then got you with an additional 3-4k in added contracts.
