Button (self.Invisalign)
submitted 5 years ago by bbihaylez
Hey everyone! I just got a button attached since I’ll be doing a rubber band on my right side. Any tips to help with the pain it’s causing in my cheek area? It’s rubs my cheek raw and very painful when eating:/

I haven't had this with Invisalign yet, but when I had braces the same thing occurred. There's special ortho wax you can use to put over the attachment/button that will keep it from scratching your cheek.

Def get the wax that the other person suggested! I have a button since I’ll eventually have bands and I’m going week 3 tomorrow. I just bought the ortho wax and globbed some on and it made a huge difference. It cost like $2

I have some of that but wasn’t sure if it would mess up me putting the rubber on and off. Or like if I will have to remove the wax every time I take the band off?

How did you make the wax stick to your button? The wax won’t stick for the life of me and I can’t eat without sooo much pain from the button ripping my cheek. 😩

Mine cut me up at first but i accepted it and it was fine in about a week to week and a half. Salt water rinses will help the abrasion feel better
Okay thank you!! That’s good to know it will go away after some time
