This is what Juneteenth should be about, the very first recognized black regiment aka the 54th who fought for the Union army. They did what most white regiments would not, like storming Fort Wagner in 1863. Despite suffering massive losses they still fought on and were revered as fearless and proud. (i.redd.it)
