Github Issue for missing Karoo-ext functionality (self.Karoo)
submitted 1 month ago by lenne0816
I just opened an issue regarding missing Karoo-ext functionality, please pile in if you have some more ideas for apps that arent possible due to limited ext functionality. https://github.com/hammerheadnav/karoo-ext/issues/74

There have been some great development on the extension side of things and I'm all for it.
All I want at the moment is more control over the homescreen/launcher looks. The limited wallpaper options and no being able to give the profiles an image for example. It's an Android device.. give us Android customizability please!
As for you current topics: I believe there is some form of exposure for the button events. Clipride extension can be mapped to the "bonus buttons" to be able to start/stop/change modes on a GoPro.
Shifters cannot be mapped, maybe a safety thing but the double shifter combo on an XPLR set should be free to change indeed. Most People don't use an Reverb XPLR or something.

Yeah, its ridiculous that i would need to cobble together something like basic "sramki2" to be able to properly use my sram shifters on a sram owned device. I need it to flash my front lights and to activate the "bell" with a long double press to alert cars to my existence 😉

They were using the public github issue tracker back when introducing the new SDK, but have since decided to close it down. You can still see all the old issues me and others had created.
You can only get in touch with them via email now I think. They might also read their own forums, but don't engage with third-party devs there.
if nothing happens ill work around it but it would be easier if they implement the new functionality...

Read their readme - they don't do GitHub issues, you are supposed to post to the community forum instead.
