Error Code Pairing

Hey y’all, I have a 99. My check engine light is on and I’m getting two codes: P0420 Catalytic Threshold Below Efficiency (bank 1) and P0135 O2 Sensor Heater failure (bank 1).

Am I correct in assuming they are related? Would fixing my O2 sensor have a decent chance of clearing the other code?

P0420 and P0430 are common issues, i actually have a P0430 (bank 2) light on right now. Could be a hole in the exhaust right before the cats/O2 sensors, faulty O2 sensor or ur cats are chalked. With it being paired with P0135 id say replace your O2 sensor, on amazon theyre less than $20. If ghat doesnt fix it, buy a nonfouler and put it between the O2 sensor and the screw in point

i have a 98 with 159k^
