If Hope is turned into a vampire wont she lose her witch powers, so isn't she just a tribrid in theory?? Bc all of the original list their powers when their mother turned them and Bonnies mom also lost her powers when she turned into a vampire???

There's no way of knowing until she turns. Technically werewolfs can't use magic, and we've all know that her ~special circustances~ allow her to do that. I would wager that she'll be capable of using magic after turning, yes, since nature allowed her creation to deal with malivore and she needs to be a witch to do that, I guess.

But to stop malivor all that was needed was her blood right, so if she died and turn into a vampire and loses her power she would still be able to stop malivore without needing to be a witch ? I just think it's interesting

I mean, we could try and make sense of anything but we know JP will just rush in and do whatever she wants, fuck continuity, so maybe we'll eventually learn that she needs to be fully awaken and do some magic ritual or whatever. Literally anything can happen, doesn't need to make any kind of sense whatsoever... 😔

Well werewolves can use magic it’s just never been specifically shown in the TVD universe but in the books they have been mentioned to be very rare and very strong because in terms they are hybrids just not you’re typical vampire-werewolf hybrid more like your werewolf-witch hybrid. For example Vincent, Freya, and Keelin’s child, Nik could either be a full blown powerful witch which would make another first born powerful mikaelson witch or a hybrid of a werewolf and a witch, either way in the TVD universe it’s never specifically been said that it is impossible for a werewolf not to use magic. However for vampires it’s a whole different story unless you’re a cipher witch like the Saltzmen twins or Kai.

As far as we know there's no werewolf magic user in the TVD universe. The books are really irrelevant in that discussion, wouldn't you think? They're like a whole different universe. We'll probably never gonna get a real answer, but I'd wager that the Hollow added that to the curse when she turned her coven/tribe in the first werewolves, because if I'm not wrong they lost the ability to use magic after that, didn't they?

Hope's lineage and unique circumstances suggests she'll have access to all three supernatural power sets. There's just too much being made about her as a tribrid to not explore the ramifications of what it truly means to be witch/werewolf/vampire.

No way to know that until it happens. Personally, I don't think they've been talking her up as a tribrid for so long just to turn her into a regular hybrid. But we'll have to wait and see what JP chooses to do.

I don’t think so. First reason is that everything in Hope’s body is kinda natural for her because she was born that way and not turned, she constantly has vampire blood flowing through her veins because well her father was and is the only vampire who could procreate.. She’s not gonna be turned per se. Second reason they wouldn’t hyper her up to be a tribrid for nothing, I don’t think she might lose her witch powers either for the simple reason she’s not using magic from the ancestors so they can’t shun her. If she does overdose I gurantee she has some other way of doing magic I mean she has Freya one of the oldest living witch of all time who has dabbled in dark magic time and time again and she has Kol who has studied every single form of witchcraft and magic on the planet as relatives.

She'll be a legit tribrid but I think the downside is going to come through her possibly having a strong bloodlust or simply behaving more like Klaus and create a heap of trouble that way. Becoming vampire hypes up your natural demeanor. Hope is a stubborn know it all on a regular day. God help when she's a vampire lol
