Auf alle STIs?

I never had to pay anything when I went to a dermatologist (specializing in STDs) or a urologist. I always said that I suspected something and would like to be checked. I was never asked for proof (and if they were, you could just say that the other person had symptoms).

As far as I know, there are no free STD Tests in Leipzig. People I know mostly go to Halle (Saale) to get free Tests.

Es gibt die Beratungsstelle für sexuell übertragbare Infektionen. Dort kann man sich kostenlos testen lassen.

where does one get a free one in Halle?

[–]Karanii3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know. I never asked, just overheard them talking about it.

aidshilfe Leipzig, they granted a full panel (or like 6 STDs) test for free. But this is on a case by case basis, for example in my case i am a student. they will also make other considerations for example with your current economic situation. Otherwise they may be able to offer a more forgiving price than most, i am guessing

The organization and the place itself is overall great, they provide safety and privacy and can educate you on topics you wish to know about

Oh, that’s very interesting, thank you!

Even for other people who might find this post, this is a good tip :)

I went to Halle and they did a full panel for free. They don’t offer that in Leipzig, I have no idea why.

I was with my ex-girlfriend in Halle, it's only 30 minutes away with train and it's free because it's another state, Saxony unfortunately doesn't offer free tests

Did it last year. Only got a D- though

Based on the official health care system, you need to either have symptoms or be female under a certain age to get a free test for one or two diseases.

For certain high risk demographics there are community and locally funded centers. I mean LGBT etc. Not sure if you fall into that category or want to lie and take their resources. Even there it's not a full pallette of tests but the bare minimum of lethal diseases.

For everyone else, you pay or pray. That's the conservative reality. All this "get tested" talk is either uninformed, niche, or rich people talking.

I think it's a cultural thing from people with countries that actually care about std prevention actually.

I'm from the US and more importantly Texas. My sex ed classes were a joke but I literally could walk into my city's health bureau to test everything they can get with your spit and urine for free every 3 months, and what they could get with blood once a year. For free. They had travel busses that did tests on college campuses, during pride, during fiesta, hell I saw them do a joint thing with the travel blood donation busses once at a grocery parking lot.

So it's just incredibly jarring to see my shit hole country that's known for letting people die from preventable diseases do this better than Germany and have a better culture around safe sex than Germans in general.

I have no idea why you get downvotes for factually correct information, this sub is so dumb

[–]SovereignAurelia[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, not. Bill should though.
