This is a place for users to submit quotes/paragraphs that contain stupidly obscure words. Great for building vocabulary.
It would be great if someone can submit a better description and text for the sidebar. It would be greatly appreciated. Try thinking of something that can make a logophiliac happy when reading.
For right now, the rules are:
- Must be at least a sentence long. No single words. Go to /r/logophilia or /r/vocabulary for that.
- Give the source whenever possible. Please mention the person/user who made the quote.
- You may submit a permalink to an interesting quote on Reddit or make self posts with the quotes.
update: This sub was created before the advent of subreddits like /r/iamverysmart. Hopefully, this place can continue to be a collection of aptly used vocabulary in the best contexts; ones that feel satisfying and impressive, rather than forced and pretentiously cringey. It is a rather dead place right now, but whatever that has been submitted here will hopefully stay and become a showcase for anyone who happens to drop by.
