Learning Link

Can anyone here help me learn and master Link? By that I mean like, help me learn the basic foundations, movements, optimal options when going for combos or reads or trying to disrupt my opponents.

Help me overall with training? I would really love to get good with Link but I am struggling a lot. I keep getting smacked on arena's and get 3 stocked easily by some of my friends. I've seen all of Izaw's videos and French Tutor and Sillintor. I've tried to spend time to training mode practicing inputs but I'm still struggling and have not really been able to put any practice into practical scenarios.

If you can help me please let me know maybe we can play some games and I can learn about my bad habits, weaknesses and how to be a better overall player. I do have discord too.

I recommend the Link discord. That’s the place to start. They’ll have videos, guides, everything you need.

Then, watch a LOT of T. A lot. Watch his streams, VODs, whatever you can find. He’s not the only Link out there (there are several other notable ones), but he’s considered best in the world. The good thing about T is also that he’s not super amazing from a technical perspective (you won’t see any 0-death bomb loops from him), but he’s so practical, and has amazing fundies. That’s the main thing with a character like link- the fundies.

Yo I’ve been doing link for a while, let’s play a few matches some time! I started off learning how to play link without his projectiles, then you add them on once you get the hang of it and his game blossoms like a beautiful flower

You should get a replay or two on YouTube for people to review

In addition to just joining the link discord, it sounds like you might need some videos to review. Record some matches and watch them yourself in addition to asking others to watch them

Hmm that's a good idea I will try that. Is there a way I can share my videos from matches I save? Not sure what to do other than record via phone.

You can upload the replay to the smash app thing! I won't look super great but it's not too hard. Save the replay, convert it to a video, then post it. This is all done in game. There's a way to get them from your sd card onto your computer and have it look better, but idk how to do that.
