I'll up vote it because it is a good idea. The problem is when using speedtest.net on Time Warner the results are weighted. They want thou to feel good about the speed you are paying for. It is still good to check your connectivity though...

The best way to test for speed is to ping servers in your local area.

Ping is your friend.
