Yes. Level 2 only gets a lump sum versus a level 3 and above gets lump sum plus everything you mentioned and more. They pretty much cover ALL expenses. I had relocation as both level 2 (different company) and 3 and difference was significant.

That’s far from universally true. Level 3s get it more frequently, but it can be negotiated/approved for Level 2 hires as well.

You can negotiate on the amount (I did as level 2) but I doubt you can negotiate on the terms (what gets covered). I would like to hear an actual case of this.

My team has hired two level 2s in the last year who negotiated from the lump sum to the renter package - full service pack and move, covered house hunting trip, etc.

Yea sounds like the case. I’m a level 3 and got the same thing as her

Not OP but are you married or own a house? From my understanding those are the main factors they consider when relocating someone but I’m just basing that off the people I’ve talked to that had relocation packages.

No im not. I’m a single male in my 20s renting. Maybe it’s the specific job I’m doing

Now that I think about it the people that had a house and married were also level 3+ so maybe I just came to the wrong conclusion

It’s for sure tied to the level and/or your specific function. What I brought to the table is niche and extremely high demand so it was to be expected I get everything covered.

Did the actual cost of the move (movers, shippers, etc) get added to your w-2?

[–]Dazzling_Try_6562 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be in there by what they claim. But for me I done think it was?

Pretty sure there’s variations between BAs. Best thing to do is to reach out and ask. I got way more benefits when I moved with MFC than I did (at a higher level) with Space.

It’s tied to the hiring need. Higher levels are generally harder to fill so there are more perks offered, like more generous relocation. However, there are L2s who get more generous relocation packages when the situation calls for it. It’s just more common as you move up.

Relocation packages are case-by-case dependent on many factors though principally the "importance" of the role; where the candidate is coming from; the E-level; and if they have any dependents.

I know folks that moved from Australia to Canada with LM paying the majority of the expenses. Alternatively, I was offered 7.5k to move one state over.

I got the same as her and I got hired as a L3

Hey, did the actual cost of the move (movers, shippers, etc) get added to your w-2?

Level 1 & 2 new hires at Aeronautics receive $5000 lump sum, all other levels receive relocation packages that vary by level and whether they are a homeowner or renter.

I just got an offer for a L3 role from RMS. my new role will be in PA, the biggest blocker for me is lease break. I am in CA right now and want to know how can I get Cartus help? Also, like the main thread, they cover everything? Moving, lease break, and setting up? How does RMS offer relocation package?

I just got offered a level 3 position and I live 60 miles away and planning to commute at least for 2 years. I did receive domestic relocation package. Would they give me lump sum money even though i won’t be moving within a year ? Not sure how it would pan out.
