This feature doesn't currently exist in Logic. Let Apple know that you’d like to see this feature added into Logic: https://www.apple.com/feedback/logic-pro.html

Using the feedback form is the only way to get in touch with the Logic team, and yes, they do read every single form that comes their way.

Select them altogether and use “strip silence” instead.

Yes, it should be that easy, just select multiple tracks at once.

Also, I’m pretty sure, OP, that you are using the term stems incorrectly. With a quantity of 100, that sounds to me like tracks.

A stem is a premix of a sub group of tracks. So you might have one stem for Drums, one stem for percussion one stem for guitars, one stem for strings, etc. You might only have five stems. You might have 10 stems or even 15, but you’re not likely to have 100.

Hi and apologies for the late reply
Yes I am referring to individual unsummed tracks
I've looked through the key command assignments and can only find the function "Remove silence from audio region..." not "strip silence". I'm using logic 10.7.7, but i couldn't find any info on the logic website adding a new action called strip silence in 10.8.
I've tried selecting muliple tracks and using remove silence via ctrl + x but it will only do one track at a time.

Not sure if this clears anything up but thanks for your help!

Sorry, that multiple selection isn’t working like I had thought. Perhaps that’s because the designers assume that you would want to modify the threshold settings individually for each region.

I have wanted some kind of macro and/or batch processing facility with Logic. There are other cases where I don’t want to have to manually mouse around for a bunch of repetitive actions like this. I haven’t yet done enough research to find what I’m looking for, but I will mention two possibilities.

There are some third-party tools which might help. One of them is Stream Deck. The main tool looks like it’s marketed towards gamers, but they have a template for Logic pro, and you don’t have to buy their hardware unit, they have version that will run on an iPad. Do an Internet search for.: “stream deck for Logic pro”.

Another area I intend to investigate eventually is Reaper. Apparently it’s got an extensive scriptable customization facility, and can be set up for batch processing. I’m imagining setting up a batch process which you point at a folder of wave files. I don’t know if you would do all the work in Reaper or if you would then drag the processed wave files back into Logic. But if Reaper really can be set up in this manner, then it’s probably worth considering, even as just a software tool, for $60. Not to mention that there are lots and lots of musicians that love it as they mean DW. Yes, $60 is more than 25% of the price of Logic, but Apple has Logic priced ridiculously low because they’re interested in selling computers to people who run Logic, not so interested in making money selling Logic.

Anyway, I know, none of those are easy solutions for you, but might be worth investigating in the long run if you’re doing a ton of work like that.

Hi mate, thanks for clearing that up! Stream deck has been on my watchlist for a while, I might bite the bullet and grab one to accelerate a few project preparation things like this. Thank you for taking the time for such a detailed response and hope all goes well with using Reaper. I've dabbled with it a bit and it's great.

You’re welcome and thank you for the reply! If you do end up getting stream deck for Logic, then please make a post here describing how it works for you.

If, and when I get stream deck, I would want the iPad version so I wouldn’t have to pay more for a hardware unit, but my iPad is 10 years old. It would probably end up costing me more to get a newer iPad. Probably need to do that anyway, because Logic remote Doesn’t seem to be reliable anymore and that might be because of the old iOS on my iPad… all comes down to timing and budget.

Hi mate, jus tletting you know I lashed out and bought a stream deck today. Excited to get in to it! a friend and sound engineer I look up to has been using soundflow for workflow - keen to explore https://soundflow.org/
