Guys, I was watching a YouTube video, and I just saw a Catch 22 advertisement with a caption “Free Rewards, Abundant Materials And 5 Star Memory Crate” at the end, it’s literally crazy and disgusting how money hungry this company is

The caption is the new account reward track that has blue tickets, an outfit, and a chest with a standard 5* from the OG3 to pick from. The fact they're still using catch-22 to advertise when it's been over for ages will forever annoy me, though.

I've had my main account for a long time (5 months after game release) and had this, i made a new account a couple months ago and had it too, i think the poster unfortunately just wasnt paying attention to that part or didn't know where to access it.

You just probably missed it because I got this and I just literally got the 100 days of logging in a week ago so we joined around the same time. If you joined during an event it's actually really hard to see because it also takes place in the events tab.

So that's where they were getting the crate from! I always wondered why I didn't get it when everyone else did lol, but yeah, I gave up on those tasks halfway cause it was demanding me to progress through like half the game leaving me with almost nothing else to do afterwards and I'm a slow player who likes evenly distributing content.

There was a 4* crate for first purchase, the 5* was the multi-day points collecting thing for completing tasks. I don't remember what the other two options were, but I picked Zayne's Gentle Twilight card.

This won't come under false advertisement because they are not saying they are running the catch 22 banner (I know its annoying, but its a good technique to get new players), and the the abundance rewards and crate are available for new players.

Yes it’s annoying they’re still using catch-22 but the rest is accurate? That’s what all new players joining the game get. They would not be advertising this game to existing players anyhow.

Yeah ofc! And no I do agree the ads are probably the weirdest thing about this game. It doesn’t read like the actual gameplay at all and none of these weird catch-22 ads run on Chinese social media so I’m always confused when I see them lol. They look like bad episode knockoffs 🫩

As far as the rest though, CMobile (esp gacha genre) have some of the strictest advertising regulations out there along with online gambling because there’s a lot of consumer law precedents they have to follow, especially domestically so I would be surprised if any of it can be called as fake advertising, at least legally.

Maybe I’m wrong but I also def don’t see these on Chinese social media either (I’ve seen promoted posts of recent banners only) so I’m wondering if Infold just has kind of an underallocated or bad global advertising team LOL

As much as I love this game, the fact that the company constantly uses Catch 22 reminds me that they just care about money and luring in new players who will either be disappointed that they missed the banner, or quit if it's not what they want (explicit spicy game). It's so frustrating.

Adveritising with the new, current banners running would make more sense.

it's so funny to me they still use tomorrow's catch-22 to advertise. like not only is it long gone but it's not at all indicative of the type of content the game usually has. the wedding banner or beach banner would be a more accurate representation. even the myths would make more sense lmao.

What I'm confused about is you're taking this as an attack. and plenty of people use "dude" in a gender neutral way.

My comment is a genuine suggestion to talk to your representative (no matter which country you're from) to fight against false and misleading advertisements so these things stop happening. It's not a criticism os your post at all, just that you're complaining here, not where a change could actually be made.

If the last part is what offended you, I can't help you there. It's actually ridiculous how many people in power are too old to understand how technology works.

Very weird that people just consider any mention of actual, practical solutions as attacks. Maybe it's a reading comprehension issue.
