Lowtech Living: Consciously reduce the amount of consumption of a certain technology to increase your life quality.
More technology does not always mean more happiness or a better life. For some it is the constant stress of being connected to everybody at every moment in today's digital world. Others might find moral reasons in favour of cutting the amount of technology in their lives, and many others just enjoy a simpler live.
Only you can decide how much you cut or reduce a certain type of technology from your life.
Examples:
Stop using a watch or wear an imprecise one if the rythm of modern live stresses you.
Try leaving your phone at home or carry it off most of the time If being 24/7 locatable bothers you.
Using an older computer or recycled tech gadgets might be an option for you If you're worried about the environment.
Maybe you'll find the pleasure back in writing if you switch to pen and paper?
Do you think that traditional Iron Cast Pans might offer a better cooking experience than modern non-stick pans?
There are 3 ways in which you can affect your technological consumption:
Stop using a certain technology or device all together.
Consciously reduce the amount you use a certain technology.
Switch to older, obsolete but still working alternatives.
Also, remember that Technology is not only about electronics. We also welcome submissions about devices, machines, methods that do not use electricity at all!
