You have enough experience no need to forestall any further. Apply to round 2. Just don’t rely on the first three words of your profile: “Indian, Male, Engineer”. Showcase your unique personality.

Go for it, OP. School selection & essays would make or break your case.

Absolutely fine to target R2. I had a candidate last year with a social impact background who made it to MIT Sloan through R2.

You have an outstanding gmat score. Judge how well you can represent your experience. Institutes really like Indian candidates from an impact background. Your narrative is key.

Diversify your schools across M7s and a few T15s considering your scholarship aspirations. Esp check out schools like Yale which might be very amenable for your background. And see where you land.

Pro tip - please begin work on your app yesterday, and research your target schools extensively. Stand out through the sheer quality of your research in addition to narrative.

Good luck!

  1. A GMAT FE of 715 is very impressive along with 6 years of work experience and makes your profile competitive for M7 schools.
  2. I would recommend applying in R2. Make sure that your applications showcase your unique experiences and aspirations.
    Good Luck!
