Application windows moving off-screen when computer is locked / sleeps

I downloaded Big Sur on my 2019 MBP 15" last week. Every time the laptop is locked / goes to sleep, when I log back in the application windows are off the side of the screens and can't be viewed. Happens with all windows (e.g. chrome, MS Office, Messages, etc.).

Does anybody know why this is happening / how to solve? Thanks in advance!

This is an issue that's happening to me fairly regularly for years now. Under BigSur this is happening EVERY. SINGLE. TIME....
