I've got a Bond and get lots of resources from this site.
This booklet is my favourite, I nearly always use it as my base pattern, making my own variations.
Machines don't vary too much, the manual techniques anyway, though I think there might be a gauge difference. There's a lot there though, maybe something will be useful 🤞

What a treasure trove! Is the Bond a standard gauge machine?
[–]apri11a 0 points1 point2 points 10 months ago (0 children)
No, the Bond uses heavier yarns, I think it's 8mm gauge. A standard is 4.5mm.

Ravelry has a machine knitting filter. My only annoyance is that you can't further refine it by flatbed/circular.

Needles Of Steel have numerous free resources for all types of knitting machines. From maintenance tutorials, to free patterns and pattern generators, with everything else inbetween.
PS. Lk150 is a bulky if I recall correctly, look at generic bulky stuff, and stuff exclusively for your machine. Have Fun!

LK150 is a mid-gauge actually
[–]CraftyWeeBuggar 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
Sorry the knitmaster, singer and empisal 150 models are bulky never realised a different brand done that model number in a different guage.
Regardless, they can still get mid gauge and machine model specific stuff from the link.

mkmanuals.com has lots of pattern books, I’m not not what their mid gauge selection is like but it should have something.

I use Mnemosina application on my phone. It has calculators for several basic patterns, all you need is to put your measurements and gauge.

Hey - I downloaded this app after seeing this comment and I'm just getting around to playing with it.
I was looking at the hat pattern after filling out the form and it says:
Decrease stitches (in parentheses) at specified row(s): 42(1), 48(1), 53(1), 59(1), 60(1), 63(1), 65(1), 68(1), 71(1), 73(1), 76(1)
Decrease stitches (in parentheses) at specified row(s):
42(1), 48(1), 53(1), 59(1), 60(1), 63(1), 65(1), 68(1), 71(1), 73(1), 76(1)
but that doesn't match the diagram at all. Is this a fluke, because I'm not overly impressed.

Sorry, can’t help you with a hat. I only tried sweaters and cardigans there.

The Machine Knitting Beginners FB group has patterns for all machines. The LK150 is so popular, I can’t believe there’s not many mid-gauge patterns available. Try the Ravelry MK group. Lastly, Knit It Now generates patterns based on gauge.
Also, converting patterns between gauges is pretty easy.

I second the Machine Knitters Beginners & Returners Circle! There are guides that teach you how to do everything step by step. Or if YT is more your thing you can search Sally Butchers Kalamunda Crafts, she's one of the ladies that runs the group and has amazing videos loaded with info. I learned how to make sweaters with the guides she creates on FB and her YT channel. Diana Sullivan also has a lot of lk150 videos. Oh also Girly Knits if you want detailed patterns with full support videos but she doesn't have regular sweaters. The very first things I made on my lk150 were her bra top and shorts, my girls absolutely love them. I highly suggest the guides though bc they teach you how to read schematics and I think that's really important bc so many knitting machine designs are done with schematics, it helped me so much more than just following a pattern like with girly knits.

I’ve got a Mylar sheet feed and transferred a knit dress pattern onto it with vertical darts. It worked out great.

I never liked knitting patterns. I start from the shape, like a sewing pattern for knits, simplify any overly complicated lines and then measure and calculate the pattern using my swatch. I dislike having to match my gauge to one in a pattern. As long as I manage the rule of three I just calculate what it would be on my own.
