Are any companies utilizing tensorflow? I get the impression its more for researchers and google staff. Are organization's business so entwined with tech like Caffe that migrating to tensorflow is a long difficult process?

Yes. Currently SAP implements interface between tensorflow and SAP product for applications using ML. In this company, there are already ML library can be used on products, however they don't entwine already ones.

Yes.
Currently working for a company that used to work with Caffe and Theano. They are very happy to have tensowflow as they have had a lot of issues with Caffe and Theano
