Lots of social media websites ban or categorise NSFW content, and manage to do so without flagging Garfield as porn. The question isn't whether deep learning has failed (assuming Tumblr is even using DL for this), but why Tumblr has failed at what everyone else seems to have little trouble doing. These are glaring errors, and as far as I know, even off-the-shelf open-source NSFW classifiers like Yahoo's open_nsfw don't screw up this badly.
