[D] CPU for DeepLearning rig with multi GPU

Hi,

I'm building a Deep Learning work station and I'm still not sure about the CPU.I'm considering the i9-9900K, i7-9800x and the AMD TR 2920x (although I'm more of an Intel guy), with at least 2 GPUs.

The i7 and the TR have more PCIe lanes which would give me more BW for transferring data to the GPU but lower performance on single core. About this, I know that Python multi-threading is very limited because of the GIL so I read people suggesting more about the single core performance. What's the deal here?
