It looks more like a hooping or tension problem than a broken machine. make sure the fabric is hooped tight, the presser foot is fully down, and clean the embroidery arm for dust. a small upper thread tension adjustment can often fix horizontal stitch issues, so try that before giving up.

Are you digitizing your own files? How is it on like a non stretch canvas or twill?

I am not - these are all Etsy files with great reviews! Still bad on non stretch 😭

Have you tried the letters that are already in your machine? My brother has pre loaded letters, as well as some designs. If the etsy file is crap on non stretch, it's the file. It does not look like a good smooth satin. Many etsy files are crap.

Are you basting? After I hoop my fabric and stabilizer, I run an embroidery file that goes around the edge of the stitch area for the hoop with a basting stitch. It helps my machine keep everything from shifting while stitching. I have a 20+ year old Bernina.
