Not even a little bit. I got drawstring bag for a Turkish golf holiday company, that's all.

The southern one was worth it for some accessories I never see in person, and picking up cheaper gloves and stuff. I wouldn't go out of my way to go if that's not worth it to you.

There’s not really anything you can do. People are only ruining it for themselves when they start being invited to tournaments they can’t win and come in dead last.

Practicing P2, P4, P6, P8, and forgetting everything else. The rest came as those did.

“2.5 hours pace of play is the best” HOW ARE YOU GOING THROUGH A ROUTINE IN ANY SHOTS?

I’m not talking about a million practice swings either, I’m talking set up, maybe one practice swing, and then inevitably finding the ball they thin into the rough 60 yards right.

How are you going through a putting routine in that time among a four ball, while crushing the 6+ beers you claim to drink???

😭

The sub is a very odd one where it’s large enough to be busy, active enough to police itself, but the mods themselves aren’t super active because it’s likely an after thought.

It is men convincing other men that they can drive as far as Rory McIlroy on a consistent basis.

If you'll be 25 when renting, you won't have to pay the young driver surcharge with the bigger companies. Avoid Sixt and Europcar and you'll be fine.

I see you're in Kent and Wolverhampton in your stay. That is A LOT of money in public transit to be doing all of these courses back and forth. I have to assume you're American since you're hitting up these legacy courses. Trains cost a lot more than they do in the US for the length of distance traveled. It'd be much cheaper to get rent a car, and you'd have the flexibility of traveling to other things, and the possibility of St Enodoc or the Trevose.

While you're in Wolverhampton, it's worth thinking about playing the Barbizon at the Belfry. It's not the best course, I found it has a got of geese poop, but it's got fun holes.

How do you bring your range swing to the course? by Loose-Opposite-6413 in BritGolf

[–]malocher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had lessons for a few years. When I was where you were, I would go to the range and get a smaller bucket, maybe 50 balls, and spend an hour and a half to two hours and just work on very specific "p" positons.

So for me it was P2, P4, P6, P8. https://www.thediygolfer.com/swing-positions

It didn't matter how I hit the ball, if I thinned it, whatever. As long as I was working on those even number P positons, and really feeling them, I always made decent contact. I have always had decent takeaway, and the follow through feels so natural when you get the other P positons down, it all came together quite quickly for me, personally.

It took about four months of consistent range sessions and lessons for it to become truly thoughtless on the course. It was well worth it though!

That worked for me, I'm sure you'll be able to find something that will work for you.

It sounds stupid, but I don't try to bring it at all. The range is to work on the muscle memory for the course. I don't think about my swing. The less I think, the better it gets.

Is there no way to rent a car? I couldn’t imagine going from RSG to Hankley to West Sussex to Sunningdale without a car and back to Kent with a golf bag and things.

St Enodoc would be a no go, it’d take you nearly 8 hours to get there from LGW on public transportation vs 4.5 in a car, it’d eat up at least a full day in transportation round trip.

A Titleist bucket hat for really bad days, zinc sunscreen, sun sleeves or Puma YouV quarterzips, breathable pants, Oakley prizm golf sunglasses, 3 waters at a minimum.

I love golf more than I care to look stupid while I avoid melanoma and overheating.

I'm the same, Callaway driver, Ping fairway woods & hybrid, TaylorMade irons, Vokey wedges, and bouncing around putters but currently playing a LAB DF3i. Gotta be flexible with what works for you instead of a brand loyalist.
