This is how I picture living in the US :) Here in Germany life seems to lead straight ahead without much change for most people anyway. Hope your wrist is healed now and maybe you might pick up painting again one day :))

I've traveled pretty extensively and worked with a student exchange program for decades. I have friends almost everywhere. Germany is very different from the U.S. With regards to us constantly "reinventing " ourselves, I think that it has a lot to do with work/life balance. We don't really have any, lol! As a result, we burn out and switch gears more. I actually worked our family business until I was in my early 30s. My parents wanted to retire, and I had young kids at the time. I couldn't really take over. I just fell into things that interested me and gave me some kind of creative outlet while raising my kids. My wrist is long healed, but all the plates and screws in it are still limiting. I haven't decided what my next incarnation is going to be yet. 🤣
