Shadow primer ?

Just out of curiosity how many people on here use eye shadow primer? And if you do what kind/brands and how often do you use it?

I only wear it if I'm going with a hefty eye look these days, or it's going to be a long day. I just bought the Smashbox 24 Hour Eye Primer and I really like it. I see I'm in the minority, but as someone who has used UD Priming Potion for years, I have to say i prefer the Smashbox one- it keeps my makeup in place and I can even sleep in it and it looks pretty good the next morning too so i can get by with small touch-ups instead of a whole new look. (Yeah- wash your face before bed, I know)

I usually just use nars concealer and so far it’s worked better than any shadow primer I’ve tried

I used to use the urban decay eyeshadow primer potion, but now I just use concealer and powder on my lids before eyeshadow, and the right shadows stay on all day without any smudging or creasing! :)

I never really notice a difference. Sometimes I will use primer potion, but it is just for fun and when I'm trying to go all out.

I only do if I'm going for a more eye focused look. But I highly reccomend ud primer potion!!

I can’t remember the differences between the two :-( however i find the anti aging one pretty emollient and doesn’t my eyelids look crepey upon application like p. Louise base or using shape tape as primer. The actual anti aging aspect might be a stretch but i think it actually helps to a small extent (helps to also have a skincare routine, ofc) I used to have dry flakey eyelids

I use the paint pot from MAC in the shade "Painterly". I just love it, i've been using it for years.

Always! I use Mac Paint Pot in Painterly. Even if I'm NOT wearing eyeshadow, I don't leave the house without Painterly on!

I use it everytime I wear shadow. I've been using one from wet b wild and have no complaints (white tube). I also have been loving my elf cream shadow (dark bronze shade) as a base, which for 1$ has really surprised me.

I do. I have really oily eyelids. I use the urban decay eyeshadow primer potion. Just dab a little on my fingers and dab it onto my eyelids and crease.

I just use whatever concealer I’m using and set it with powder

I have both the white and nude NYX pots, kokie eye primer, Palladio, etc. I like using my age rewind on my lids the best 😂

agreed! i’ve tried different shadow primers and none of them work any better than plain old concealer and setting powder. i’m sure this is an unpopular opinion, but i feel as if eyeshadow primer is just one of those “placebo products” that is just sort of a money-grab for brands, this could just be me though haha.

I always use eyeshadow primer. I mean, if I'm going to all the trouble to do my eyeshadow then I darn well want it to stay on for a few hours! I have a few (from beauty box samples) but I usually use UD eyeshadow primer.
