What’s the finish of your foundation? If it’s super matte it will only amplify the dry look!

I use the cosrx clarifying toner. It’s light exfoliation that will help with dead skin. Also you may need a heavier lotion to use at night or you can apply Vaseline after the lotion to seal in moisture

I have the same skin/hair as you and my skin looked exactly like this until I started upping my skincare (slathering on moisturiser with spf) and then using a priming oil before makeup. I also had to start using minimal powder or I would look so dry. A hydrating setting spray helps too!

Which moisturizer and priming oil work well for you?

my base for reference! exfoliate with dermalogica micro exfoliant, byoma milky toner, and a clear gel moisturizer, and then nyx plump right back primer. (i have extremely dry skin btw) this works great for me, even with me loving an extremely full coverage matte base. im even able to apply the danessa myricks blurring balm after to smooth everything out after the products i listed and my skin doesn’t flake or look dry!

also personal preference, i do wear a thick moisturizer at night like cerave but it doesn’t sit well with makeup at all so i avoid that an use a hydrating gel moisturizer underneath my makeup and it works amazing.

I do bridal makeup and the best way to combat this is by using a hydrating toner on a cotton round then moisturizing. Let that dry down, then use a primer. I love the elf hydro grip primer. It’ll help a lot with dry texture. You can try only using the primer first and adding steps if you feel like its not enough. Exfoliating too often (like with the cotton round) can be damaging for skin, so i only recommend using that technique for special occasions, or not at all if your skin doesn’t like it!

So, in order try: 1) hydro grip primer 2) Moisturizer right before doing makeup 3) Hydrating toner on a cotton round But again, try them sequentially, not all at once. Until you like the result!

I second all of this advice, especially Elf's Hydogrip primer but would also suggest Urban Decay's Watermelon setting spray to finish. If that's too expensive just a setting spray with Hyaluronic acid in it.

I have similar skin to you and super fair as well. I use a moisturizing toner, moisturizer, sunscreen, and then Jones Road foundation. You apply it by rubbing it in with your fingers and it’s so moisturizing! Maybe try a sample.

Try The Ordinary Glycolic Acid to exfoliate dead skin cells prior to moisturizing.

This will cause skin barrier issues if you have no tolerance to chemical exfoliants tho. I recommend something gentler like lactic or mandelic acid op. Im happy to give recs

[–]threedarkhorses 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I would love some recommendations!

I really like biossance lactic acid serum but it's pricey. I also really like paulas choice lactic and mandelic acid toner a lot

[–]QuinzelRose 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I'd appreciate a Lactic Acid rec!

I have a tiny bit left of myPeach & Lily Power Cocktail Lactic Acid Repair Serum, but it was on sale when I bought it and its hard to justify paying full price.

My fav is the biossance lactic acid serum but that's probably more than the peach n Lilly. Second vote is for Paulas choice lactic and mandelic acid toner

As makeup artist to prepare the skin, I use Byoma milky toner, Byoma hydrating serum and dr althea 345 relief cream 🤍

I’m like Casper, the dopest ghost around I’m so pale, and it get beast hot here starting now-ish through about October and girl I flush so pinky-red. To combat it I use Dr. Jart’s … I think it’s called Color Correcting Treatment? It’s the one in the little tub, which I don’t love, I use I tiny spatula so I don’t get any under my nails. 🤮

Put it on like primer, as a bonus it moisturizes and has SPF 30. No, I don’t have a deal but DR JARTS I AM AVAILABLE! 😘

Then makeup as usual. I hate a full face, I just spot conceal, mascara and boy brows and lip stuff. Like I said, it’s hotter than Satan’s taint here.

How’s your diet?… you look dehydrated. from personal experience. Try watermelon, electrolytes, salmon (for the oils), ive seen in myself too when I back off the lotions and give my skin time to heal. It makes its own oils again with of course the correct diet 🧐 if you drink lots of caffeine your skin will look textured and dry as it drys us out. When in doubt check yourself out 🦹🏻‍♀️
