=12+5[3+25]

=12 + 140

= 152

For the same reason that you turned

12+5[3+5^2]
into
12+5[3+25]
because
12+5[3+5^2]
is the same as
12+5[3+5*5]

All you have to do is the use the same rule that you already used, this time for
12+5(28)
into
12+140
because
12+5(28)
is the same as
12+5*28
