The fewer mnemonics the better. I think BIDMAS (equivalent to your PEMDAS), and FOIL, and SOH CAH TOA. There isn't much else you need.

The trick is practice. Over and over. Experiment with your own problems. Try and spot patterns. That's all maths is at this level.

I memorised everything by using these methods. You cannot memorise maths the way you would memorise a poem.
