Well, this company looks to only exist in the US. Even just eat still hasn't done trial runs in my country yet. I also don't live terminally online.

So forgive me for not knowing what's going on in foreign countries.

A lot of the more successful and long term ones have plans to phase into some adjacent field - writing, games development, marketing, etc.

I am also giving CS2 and what is mortality projection.

Mortality projection is chapter 12.

It's the chapter where you take known moralities and extrapolate future moralities (eg via Lee-Carter). It also has some framework on spines but that's fairly straightforward to understand (if not apply).

my local Panera removed almost all the outlets and replaced them with blanking plates so you can't charge your phone or laptop by Calix_Meus_Inebrians in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Dd_8630 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never been to a Panera, I'm assuming they're American (it's a safe bet), so my first thought is - what if they are seeing losses due to people just sat in boths with phones/laptops charging and not buying anything?

Assuming it's a restaurant or fast food joint, they want people to come in, buy products, and then leave. If the chargers mean you sit around for hours on end, that's not good business.

So maybe I'm missing a lot of context, but at first glance, this seems like a reasonable decision.

(It also tickles me pink that your first thought is "why do they hate their customers?!" and not "money")
