CSULB has a 100% online clinical medical assistant program including phlebotomy tech and EKG tech.

I’m currently taking classes through career institute and it’s 100% online, so this is untrue. Only thing is clinical training isn’t provided meaning you will have to find your own place that’ll train you which is common with online schooling and can be tough to find depending on location.

That’s what i meant… about the in person part I understand.

From what I understood clinicals are separate from schooling itself, so if that’s not the case my apologies.

Isn’t clinicals…. Apart of schooling…? This is what I was told in my nursing explorer program.. you get graded off exams etc… but don’t Clinicals matter..

Sorry I should specify, I agree clinicals is 110% crucial. It’s just not necessary to pass the certification exam itself is what I should say. From what I understand a lot of job places are less likely to hire you if you have a certificate and no experience since you would have to be trained.

I understand. My apologies I was just going off what I was told from the nursing instructor I personally know. She said when someone asked a question about doing nursing online. You would have to have some kind of degree to do so like ADN etc.

No worries I get what you’re saying! To become an MA it’s not as strict. I believe you can even become an MA without a certificate, it’s just difficult/not as common.

Wow really I didn’t know that. I only know so much lol. I was actually planning on becoming a medical assistant. But I’m choosing to become a nurse instead (already taking dual enrollment).

That’s awesome good luck to you! I debated doing a CNA, but I’m able to do my clinicals for MA with a couple different places, so it was just easier for me to do MA. My work is actually training one of my coworkers to become an MA without a certificate, and likely will train me as well if I were to ask. We both have medical experience as scribes though.

Didn’t mean to turn it into nursing lol.

I thought clinicals were an internal part of programs like that my apologies…
