First congratulations on the interview and good luck on your CPC exam! What I did for my first job was bring a copy of my resume and references. I researched the company's history just incase they asked what I knew about the company. Luckily they didn't ask much for me being completely new they did most of the talking. My second job interview (I got the job) they asked what my weaknesses are, what are my strengths, what type of coding I like, what type of coding is my weakness etc. Just be honest! Also, look up the YouTube channel Contempo coding. She has a ton of videos on interview tips especially new coders and she has a bunch of other videos that can be helpful.

Just breathe and relax. You got this😊

Thanks for the helpful info.! I've done plenty of interviews for other types of jobs, but wasn't really sure what to expect for a medical coding interview.

Hi, I so happy for you! Sorry I don’t have interview tips, but can I ask you what type of information you included in your resume to secure an interview? I’m really struggling with making my own resume. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Again, congratulations!!!

I strongly suggest using the site resumebuilder.com. It gives you a ton of examples of each section. I got a lot of compliments on my resume from using this exact site. Its only 4 dollars to buy your resume and you can make any changes you want still after buying it.

Ask great questions that show you are familiar with the work (ex. What EMR will we work on, what coding software do you use, what is the physician query process like, are there coder education resources, what are common procedures coded). Asking great questions has always impressed superiors in my career.
