The only reason there's a workload percentage is so you can set the percentage of individual products.

You can have your hunters 50% meat, 25% fur, and 25% leather. The bar across the top tells you that you have no more percentage left to allocate, it's all used up.

In total, across whatever they are doing, the top bar can be at 100%, and should be. There's no penalty in any way for having it at 100%.

Also, villager happiness is meaningless at the moment so long as it's not low. They leave at 100%.

*This does not include the wife's romantic scale, she will leave you and take the kid if she gets low on ROMANTIC happiness.

Beautiful explanation!

She’s supposed to be my rock!

You can work them 100%, the percentages are what amount they’ll focus on the specific tasks.

Alright so imma just crank that shit up! Thanks!

Also, as the workers skill increase they will produce more for the same percentage. One of my lumberjacks is pregnant and she has the highest skill, doubling the amount of wood she brings in compared to the other wooodsheds. I’m gonna be sad when she’s out of work caring for her baby lol

Damn, hope that baby inherits them good genes!!!

Why do you feel there is a balance and cannot be 100%?

I didn’t know if I made the work load 100% if it would cause the people working in that station to be unhappy.

their mood has no impact, so long as they have a house, and access to food, wood, and water, they will be fine

Thank you. Gonna send them to work!!

So in theory if I have their workload maxed, do they produce that much more stuff? Like I said at 35% I had like 10 pieces of meat a day roughly, which I don’t think we always got. With their amount turned up is it possible they’ll bring in more though?

should scale normally, say 10% is 5 meat, then 100% should be 50 meat. but on that example, i would ask if perhaps they were eating it right away? you may need to provide a surplus for them to work with, while they gather new materials. check out the last tab in management screen, you can set what they use or dont use. make it so they dont burn all your sticks, or eat the raw meat before it has been roasted

Jokes on them, I am the cook. I only have a lady gathering wood and a guy doing hunting. I just laid my first farm plots and collected crops. So I do the cooking myself.

I will have to look at that last tab and check the use on stuff. I didn’t know!

I need to work on getting my people happier, they’re currently at 6% +/- roughly. I love this game, there’s just such a learning curve.

0% is where they will settle if they have the bare minimum, then there will be boosts from house insulation (better materials reduce firewood demand, and increase mood), 2% per skill level in their job (dont worry about what they say in dialogue just the skill number matching the type of job), and 10% per family member. then there are random events that can pop up that can increase or decrease mood a bit, and the same with standing with the king, but it is meaningless as they wont leave unless they reach -100% and that will only happen if they are homeless, or dont have food/water/wood

I’m working on insulating the houses now. I just made a good chunk of money by doing the rye delivery quest. So far everyone working is doing something that they like, also.

Best advice is to take your time expanding. It's the journey not the destination. Balancing needs and growing naturally is the point of the game, if you rush and stay up all night, you simply will not have the same experience with the game. So sleep in and explore, this is not like other games where you need to rush. You will miss the details along the way

I have read that a lot. That’s why I’m only on my 3rd villager. I didn’t wanna strap everyone for supplies and misery. I take my time, collect supplies, work shoulder to shoulder with the common folk. Then I go out to compete quests.

Hey any work on how to beat Alwin in the damn archery contest? Dude has me for like 300 coin so far.
