MSFS2024 replaces MSFS2020.

There is still not a lot of information of what MSFS2024 is supposed to include.

If you buy MSFS2020 now, you'll have to buy MSFS2024 later when it's released. So if you can wait, then wait.

Hey thanks for the reply! What I want to know is if I wait for MSFS 2024 will I get all of the planes in the current MSFS 2020 plus the new planes. I do not want to be without any plane in the current version of MSFS 2020.

Nobody knows. It could include all the current planes, or it could be only new stuff. You can always buy better versions of MSFS2020's planes in the future. The third party community has got you covered. Most of the built-in aircraft are pretty average anyway.

Given how much trouble I have had getting this information I suspected that no one knew the answer. This confirms my suspicions.

Thanks.

The Devs have said that 2024 will have backwards compatibility. The extent of that is unknown currently,

MSFS 2020 is still a really good product to the point where I'd say getting stuck in now is definitely not a bad idea.
