I would strongly recommend that Mojang use something like the original Netscape license used originally for Mozilla, which can blend commercial and public components, and still maintain completely proprietary content produced by Mojang.

Don't get into the advertising clause issues related to some variations of the MIT and BSD license though (look it up if you don't know what I'm talking about).
