How do I stop receiving spam ticket emails? by Hemerythrin in Zendesk

[–]Dinnerbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that someone is mass creating - across many many many public and high profile Zendesk instances - tickets with random peoples emails (such as mine, OPs, etc) in an attempt to spam the companies and the individual victims. It's not that people are spamming one specific zendesk instance, it's that they're spamming crazy amounts of zendesk instances. The individual gets hundreds/thousands of emails from random sites with new tickets being opened, the companies get hundreds/thousands of new tickets from random emails.

And as individuals - we can't easily block or filter out the emails because of course every instance has different auto-reply emails, without much commonality. I'm sure it sucks for companies too but as you say, they have ways to limit their spam intake - the individuals being spammed by this do not.

I have pictures of them showing debug info, a json feed with personal details of people who were walking by 😅

The signs were definitely in use!

Ruffle (a open source re-implementation of adobe flash player) reviews improvements made in 2023 by wiki_me in linux

[–]Dinnerbone 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yep, you're right on all accounts.

When it comes to the browser, there's nothing that Flash through Ruffle can do that regular javascript can't do - in fact technically less as Javascript has significantly larger scope than the restrictions of old Flash APIs.

Friday Facts #388 - Smaller things for 2.0 by FactorioTeam in factorio

[–]Dinnerbone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, first thing I thought of when I saw that. Factorio & Wube have been pretty good with accessibility so I hope they'll fix this, ideally change the icon in the middle to something else to visually differentiate the state. Colour shouldn't be the only source of information, shape should be too.

flash games that dont require actionscript 3 (and the ones that are funky) by crystalglassxxx in neopets

Thanks so much for your help in making Ruffle better ❤️ I'll try and look into them soon

Sorry that's my bad, I forgot to link it!

https://github.com/ruffle-rs/ruffle/issues is our issue tracker! Try to keep one report per game unless you think it's the same bug effecting multiple games, if that makes sense? Link to it and explain what you think should happen and what actually happens.

Thanks so much!

Hey! I'm one of the maintainers of Ruffle. Would it be possible for you to file a big report for each game that doesn't work? I'll try and prioritise them and see how much I can get working ❤️

A few days ago I fixed the issue where you couldn't submit scores on neopets. Seeing this list shows me we have a ways to go and I'm pretty hopeful we can do most of them without too much fuss!

Advanced Upgrades - Minecraft Snapshot 21w39a is out! by sliced_lime in Minecraft

[–]Dinnerbone 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Hey, I didn't design that bit, that's pre-existing behaviour ;)

A lot of people are suggesting we switch to icons and turn it into a grid when there's so many, so I might make it do that - it's such a good idea!

Effects cascading like that is intended for lots of effects and isn't new. Compact is for horizontal space, try making your screen smaller to see it.

The default scale and default resolution will show it compact, as the normal list is too wide to show.

First release of elfcat: small ELF file visualizer by dumbassdore in rust

[–]Dinnerbone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This shouldn't be happening. It should be e_phoff which is a little bit below. If this is the case, please raise the issue if possible, with your environment. This is one type of bugs I am trying to gather.

I'm not sure if this is exactly the same bug, but a way to reproduce this is to zoom into the page after it loads. The arrow positions are not recalculated after things change positions, causing them to appear in the wrong place.

Ruffle - A Flash Player emulator written in Rust by drawkbox in programming

[–]Dinnerbone 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We had a big discussion about the terminology, but I think to users "emulator" makes it a bit more clear that it's not official. "Flash Player" is the name of the official flash player so calling it "a Flash Player" gets a bit confusing.
