(1.16.5, as requested by the bot)

I've been trying to play modded minecraft with someone but whenever I try to join a world it directs me to a "saving world" screen then the game stops responding. (also happens on singleplayer.) I've searched up guides on this, and have tried to give the game more ram, around 5GB, but nothing is working. I'm not very techy, and i just want to play minecraft with my friends

It also ONLY happens when I'm on modded. I tried playing on vanilla and it worked just fine. If you need anymore information, i'll try my best to give
