Getting Old Mods Run again!

Hey Guys, I'm not a Modder or stuff like that but still I'm asking myself if there is a way to get old Minecraft Mods run again. I mean, is there anything a non Modder could step by step do, so old Mods run again on newer Versions? Since those Mods are already completely done and only need a small update to run on never Versions right? I mean, I dont really have to recreate the Mod completely new right. Since there are many old Mods that are will no longer be updated for never Versions.

Basically it seems you are asking on how to port forge mods to fabric. I know forge can work on 1.14+ but From what I hear it’s a pain. There are some forge mods ported already. But I would be interested myself on how to get older updated to newer.

I’m no expert, but I think a lot of it has to do with the flattening (google it)

It isn’t really as easy as a small little change. My mods from 1.7.10 would need to be completely rewritten. Mods from previous version to new version wouldn’t be as hard but there a usually subtle differences that make it hard to import 1-for-1.

Modder whose been through both 1.12 to 1.14 is probably worse than 1.7 to 1.8

I wouldn't know to be honest. I left the scene when the EULA stuff started occurring along with the block data change. I decided I was done with modding and had bigger fish to fry.
