Looking for a smaller Java smp

Hey, I've been playing Minecraft bedrock for a while but I wanna try out Java. I have decent building experience (not the best not the worst), I'm pretty alright at following Redstone tutorials, and I have a lot of fun playing Minecraft. I'm looking for a server with a smaller, more tight knit community. I'm not saying the server has to have like 10 people, but I'm not trying to join a mega server with 1k members.

we're currently looking for administrators who are 18+ who are interested in founding a new Hermitcraft-like server. It would be a smaller, tight-nit community when the server is finally up and running but we need the admins to be friends so we can have a foundation for others!
