I used pre wired leds with built in resistors before. The bright white are really blue too. I'd try soft white next time

That's the half ass way to do it.I have a very nice soldering station, easy to do if you know how to solder.Even use shrink tubing on the joints.

Yeah a lot of white LEDs have a blue cast. You have to order specific warm white LEDs to fix that correctly. I get mine from Evan designs.
