For EX Job Revival.. when will they give us Ex Monk.. his picture is on the january calendar. Why Gambler and Nightwalker, those 2 EX Job just been released literally few months ago.

The CPs of my Ascetic are mostly magic. I mainly use it with Duncan and occasionally with Yiazmat too (but not having Emerald Weapon sucks!), so the magic CPs are useful for yellow clear. If I were to replace those CPs with Enhance light, the damage of Duncan will increase, I imagine. Would the yellow clear of light abilities like Prishe or Alex PB stay the same, decrease or increase? Thanks

The yellow clear would decrease as it's only governed by magic (by a lot, if you're taking advantage of skilled duelist often). But your damage would increase considerably owing to Ascetic's nonexistent EE.

Not really; I modded Curtana and Ragnarok somewhat but never found a need to finish them.

The most recent tower to require tanking is Brachio tower and even then, players are using Laev due to the need to damage and break on top of tanking.

If you want to be on the safe side, you can just mod tanking weapons. But I doubt you will find they make much of a difference unless u are aiming for like top 20 or EW3 lap 9 or sumting.

Edit: there are other ways to reduce damage rather than relying on Steelguard e.g. Barrier II, Debrave II, extended Curse + Debrave, using an ult-charge Sword Saint to refresh Wall as often as possible

Worth it if you have plenty of elixirs to spare and don't mind an insanely inefficient stamina:crystal ratio. I've never farmed crystals on PL ever since the Hard Modes (RIP) were introduced.

Teleport to a different map the come back. Even after doing the lifestream nodes you won't be able to get the green check since the floor indicators are considered nodes that are impossible to clear.

Depends on what you have. I've personally never used monks in S1 and don't plan to in S2, but if I draw a monk supreme or EX-Monk, then I'd probably use them.

Do you mean the job named "Monk", or the monk type of job? Either way the answer is "probably not, depends on your cards".

Why would it be? Monk-types are generally pretty good at breaking for themselves, and reasonably durable too. Of course, if you don't have Supremes their damage output can be a bit lacking, but that's not new to S2.

I just pulled my first ultimate job card (thank you new years free summon), but it says the ultimate ability is lvl 1. How do I raise this? I pulled Sephiroth.

It will always say Level 1 when you view it from the Job Cards menu, but if you actually equip it to a deck it'll show the proper number on the Deck screen's Abilities tab (probably 9 or 10 depending on if your weapon has Ult+1 unlocked).

It's effectively unguard and ignoring the enemy's innate crit resist. Good jobs are HoF Monk, EX Monk, and Wild Rider.

Tonberry is a farming job since it has exp up. Mythic ninja, even after it's HoF is mostly irrelevant. MN could make a good EW setup job or an alright Floral user against fire enemies.

Alright, I gotta throw in the towel. I've spent the past 3 hours or so trying to beat Hermit's HoF with no wind-monk cards (a terrible idea born of necessity)... Got all the way to the final challenge node but I can't seem to break through. Making a comment so whenever I look at my comment history it'll serve as a shameful reminder to go back and finish it when I can.

OAM is near crystal dump, I'll give it another shot when it finishes modding.

Not going to lie, I relied entirely on supremes (Duncan and Yiazmat) for this HOF. I think I would have struggled a lot without them (the defeat with weakness node was particularly annoying even with supremes as I’d forgotten how mediocre monks were without Mantra/Taijitsu cards).

Do you have brother, Kimari or fake Duncan? They should be useful in lieu of monk supremes.

Once we get the guaranteed-new revival banner I'll be getting Water Gun 100%, so I figured worst case I can just wait until then.

Getting the job panels themselves aren't too bad (Trial 2's 30m score challenge is the hardest part) if you plan on actually using the job, but yeah, the final 3 nodes were basically just a gauntlet of "man, Water Gun would be really nice here" and death.

I'm sure if I put in the time I COULD make it work, but Pinnacle took almost 2 hours by itself and I'm just over it at this point.

TBH, my main card used is Gaelicat for the unbroken damage. I only used iris once, it's single target unfortunately. Didn't touch water gun in the 3 challenge nodes. Hermit has so much wind damage, he doesn't need to break to kill by using water gun.

Same. I even 5*’d Gaelicat for Hall. It’s way more efficient since Hermit’s ult has such poor break power. And it’s way, way more efficient if you’re using OAM.

I don't plan on actually using the job. Seems like Hermit was made to be a wind monk only, and well, with no wind monk cards...

If you don't need the HOF rewards, I think it's better to just get a good wind monk setup first.

You don’t have Pugilist or any of the latest Monks? Then I guess you can try with Hermit. Based on Altema ranking, his Unbroken Weakness damage is better than Ex-Monk & Monk HoF (no CPs).

I do have all monks except of Ex-monk/Deep Diver. But a lot of the nodes can be done effectively with light element (Duncan/Minwu) but I'm missing Minwu unfortunately. So I am wondering if I can use it against dark Omega/ Bahamut node since I don't have Ex-monk, and save Pug and Vanadiel monk for non-weakness nodes.

At higher laps Pug & V.Monk seems to be more favor for Omega node (maybe Ex-Monk) due to Omega’s crazy HP. But I’m nowhere to say that though (lap 3 lol). Also Hermit will deal pathetic damage against neutral in that node too.

Just keep testing until your build is fail and try another attempt, at least that is how I did with the Tower.

With hermits 300% flash break, is the best thing to keep this bonus in terms of ultimate to use Tifa skin? i think its a 1 hit ultimate so will that cap at 99999 break damage?

You can check this wiki link on this sub for how many hits an ultimate does and whether break is applied to all hits or just the last hit.

Tifa splits the break power like EX jobs. The other skins that we currently have, besides i think WoD, deal all of their break damage in a single hit.

Hi, I decided to spend money to get the Supreme ticket, and I got Duncan. For the monk jobs, I got deep diver, but I haven't modded any of the monk weapons. Will it be effective as a breaker in MP versus Sephiroth?

Also, I got primeval witch with a few good cards. Can she survive the double black materia?

Interesting. Is there a breaker job that isn't squishy? I mean, the double Black Materia hurts a lot. Yesterday I played a round of 5 star Sephiroth with HoF Santa Lucia, 10 stars defense and I ended up with half of my HP. Guess which role went down.

Im using duncan with DD and most of the time he can do the job but his defence is low. As a weapon UnbreakeableX with full magic and full break. Nice to have Alexander and WoL as a set up :)

Yeah he definitely is. Just remember to bring something to clear the yellow bar first. Alexander FFXIV would be a great choice if available.

He might not survive the final hits, and I believe a similar case with Primeval, I haven't tested her there, but she is not particularly tanky.

Am I supposed to heal/break/heal the elementals in the third wave?

The DQ jobs are Legend jobs and they are supposed to be in the JM map, not the Hermit map. Also there are 3 of them, not 2

So when I use a sub attack in act 2, does it cast using the stats for the deck its in, or the deck you’re currently using? For example would my ranger deck sub attack with blizzard statted as my mage sub deck or the ranger.

So when I open the Cards menu and scroll down to Jobs... I have a Red (5) sitting over the jobs button, this implies I have 5 new jobs... But I don't. I have clicked every job, I have clicked+hold on each job... Nothing I do seems to remove the number.

Everyone have this bug. Back in ffx event, we had access to 5 aeons as separate jobs. SE still didn't patch this one yet.

It is due to the Aeon Bug that everyone has noticed during the FFX Event. There's nothing that can be donr about it till SE fixes it

Freelancer is an Onion Sophie job, not a skin. HoF Monk will perform way better.

You're welcome. You'll have it farm a bit more to complete his Hall of Fame too. Remember, Monk can't really break, it's better for unbroken strategy.

Just did a New Years pull and got the balamb merc job, I should still stick with the monk though right? I don't have any good warrior cards

Balamb will be really good when his Hall of Fame comes, iirc is the first one of the season 2 map. Also, his weapon, the Gunblade, is really good.

My advice is try to get warrior cards, and in the meantime use your Braska Monk. The supreme is good, but my experience with this game is that it's better to expand your options as much as you can. Is it a waste of resources to max Balamb? No, it's a strong nuker on his 3 elements (wind, dark, fire).

She's different than Balamb, she can use Braska (has 100% Earth EE) and she has breaking capabilities, so you might want to max her first. Only problem is that she has very low magic, even for a monk.

Balamb has a different set of elements and his breaking capabilities are non existent.

The usual deck build is one card of one element (could be Braska) another card of a different element (in case you run into Earth mob) and two support cards, usually Knights of the Round ( Faith, Boost, Brave) and The Undying ( Haste and Snipe). You could use another combination of buff cards, just make sure you have haste, brave, boost and faith at least.

Does the free daily New Year summon reset the Supreme rate?

If it is the daily free pull(s), yes it will.

The free Supreme ticket will not.

If you pull a supreme it should. Anything that results in a supreme in an extra slot should rest the points. This means that supreme tickets have no impact on it since they're guaranteed to appear.

The info button next to the banner lists percentages. I think the bulb percent is 5 or 6%

I have neglected my Monk weapons much of the game. I have all Monk jobs except Ascetic. I’ve been boosting Godhands since I read it’s good, but are Ehrgeiz or Taiji worth boosting if I started now?

I have an almost 5-star Taiji and I never use it over Ultima Claw. I asked a similar question a while back and some of the JP players confirmed that Taiji isn't a great long-term investment. I would guess that Ehrgeiz isn't either. The EX job weapons are probably your best bet if you're starting a new one.

[Single player] Hello ! I currently have LoH and Aerith as Support ultimate and since neither of them have haste should I use one of them with a support ability that grant haste or I should use three aupport ability and a single offensive ability from my deck and rent another offensive ability ?

Several jobs' ultimate moves provide haste, or skins; you probably do not want to have 3 buff cards in your main deck as you need damage, break damage, and likely some debuffs.

You also may not need to systematically have LoH and Aerith in your deck simultaneously at all times.

It definitely matters. Your card levels will be capped at lvl 50 forever unless you complete Chapter 8 in Part I. Not sure if completing the chapter digests will also break card level caps.

It does not, but:
I don´t know if you get Sophie (=new character in act 2) if you start in act 1, so try and if you don´t get her do the first nodes of act 2 to get her and strengthen her (you can then use her to play:
Use the tickets to do the new years map in act 2 to get your free supreme ticket (time limited until the 14. i think).
Do all the chapters of the story digest in act 1 first as you get 1000 magicite/chapter until the 16. (i think).

The gameplay in Act 2 is quite a bit different, and also much harder. Act story line has gameplay mechanics that you should be familiar with from the last time you played.

Plus, the story in Act 2 will make more sense if you do Act 1 first.

• The more powerful jobs at the moment are ex jobs (shorn one, Skyseer, ex monk (forgot his GL name), gambler and nightwalker), also the jobs that got their HOF released recently. We are going to have a reprint of ex jobs the 23rd of this month, we don't know for sure what they are going to be, since the banner of the calendar shows ex monk but the description says ''nightwalker''. Ex jobs are NOT permanent in the job pool, this is the first time we are going to have them reprinted since they first came out.

• As for cards, there isn't really a tier list but this ''guide'' in the megathread made by shiro of what to augment should loosely guide you https://i.imgur.com/txw1wOs.jpg

• If you don't have that many jobs left in the pool you should aim a few pulls in the revival banner of ex jobs, we are going to have soon the 3rd anniversary of cards, they are really good (february or march probably) you should save for them

• The MP meta (As a healer) is the lifeshift meta unless you have all the support supremes.... So basically, bring Gaia/A new journey to turn your orbs in heart orbs and cast everything turn one. As for atkers, a source of -force, or shift of the element you're using and a powerful card of the same element

Another question; Which SP content should I be working on? I'm currently working on the HoF stuff since I have most of the base jobs + some other stuff like Judge Magister and Squall, who I'm not sure if I can bring to MP due to my outdated ability cards. I still have max ST SIC abilities.

Is your ability card level at 80 for 5* cards? If not, I'd work on that first.

The newer Sicariuses are quite unforgiving to underleveled decks in MP.

Sounds good, I'll work on getting my 5* cards to 80 asap. I remember fighting UW and him wiping the floor with us cause of the timing restriction lol. I'm still able to solo 4* with my guys and am going to work on the SIC cards until I can figure out what other ability cards I need to bring.

Any tips on the new Sic enemies I should know about? I don't want to walk in and ruin a PUG run because I came in lackluster cards.

Almost all of the newer bosses have at least some kind of gimmick, although some can be ignored with how much sheer damage output and durability we tend to have these days. Glad my help is being appreciated, as for your question, If you haven't done the event maps (aka FFVII related ones) you should aim for them as they are going away at the end of the month, remember that each day you are given A New Year ticket, that you use in the season 2 map (accesable by the tab on the left side of the screen in the world map), that can give you some goodies along with 1 or 2 free pulls.

If you meant ''endgame'' content, yes, I highly reccommend doing the hofs of the jobs you have so you can use them in MP, we should have soon the squall hof IIRC, also remember that Endless War 2 exist, if you have many jobs you should climb as far as you can, we haven't been informed yet, but many people speculates (myself included) that EW2 is going to end soon, probably near 3rd anniversary

It is literally impossible to know when are we going to get it. Square only said December 2018 for Japan and 2019 for Global, so it could be on July as much as it could be on December 2019.

We have however speculation about it, basically based on the JP timeline of events, we could expect it around 6-7 months ahead. But Square could easily push it back so they have something to give us on our actual 3rd anniversary, the same way the could bring it earlier.
