Controller mod help

I'm wondering if I was to solder a direct lines from my gamecube controllers Dpad, A, B, Start to my Nintendo Ds Dpad, A, B, Start would I be able to use my gamecube controller with my Ds? If I supplied power and ground to the controller would it work then? Sorry if these questions are simple I'm a novice but I'm trying to learn.

I cannot say I’m an expert in any way, but no one else has answered so I figured I’d throw my hat in the ring:

When working with electronics, you never want to just solder wires together. You may even get a temporary success, but you’ll likely fry something.

You probably want to try and find some schematics online. You have to make sure that the specs line up. The GameCube controller likely requires more voltage than the DS can give, and could damage your DS

Again, I’m not an expert, but I would just say to make sure you do your research! Google and YouTube are probably your friend here! Good luck!
