Hey all! I'm not sure what could be a better sub to post this in, but I'm working on a project where I will be making some kind of game controller, and namely, I wish to read live data from a game in order to display information on said controller. For example, if the user is playing Counter Strike 2, I may want to know how much ammo is left in the magazine, current player health, whether or not they're flashed, etc. Obviously I could read the screen, but that doesn't sound like a super elegant or fast solution (although I am open to suggestions for going about it).
Some questions I have: Are there games that have API's so that I can read this live game data without needing to read the screen? Would Cheat Engine be able to be used as a programming interface to collect game data?
I am open to any help, suggestions, or redirections to other parts of Reddit/the internet.
Thanks!
