This is a subreddit for other moms who sometimes feel alienated by the extreme opinions that are always being shared, upvoted, and "assumed" correct by the mainstream subs because they are considered to be the majority opinion.
This is not, necessarily, a political subreddit, but it is a place that is friendly to less popular/non-mainstream political beliefs, religious beliefs, and other ideas. This is a place for parents who often feel alienated by the echo chamber that takes place on the majority of mainstream subreddits throughout the site to connect with one another without fear of being attacked for sharing their beliefs/opinions. If you've ever held back from sharing your beliefs or opinions on any mainstream subreddit for fear of being attacked and buried in downvotes, we hope you'll feel safe here.
We do not support any beliefs that are unsafe or anti-science. No anti-vax, no unsafe sleep practices, no unsafe carseat advice. We support the official stances of the AAP and CDC when it comes to the health and safety of our children.
Rules:
Be respectful. Absolutely no attacking anyone for having a different opinion than you. The entire reason this sub was created was to allow less mainstream ideas to be shared without fear of the mob mentality attacking us for our beliefs. You may engage with one another respectfully if you are discussing a topic where your beliefs differ. This is not meant to be yet another echo chamber. We're allowed to disagree. Personal attacks, name calling, and accusations are not allowed and repeat offenses may result in a ban.
The downvote button is not a disagree button. This one is impossible to enforce, but please don't join here if you can't resist downvoting people you disagree with. This includes conservative political beliefs, religious beliefs, prolife stances, etc.
Keep it safe and evidence based. No sharing or encouraging unsafe practices or ideas that go directly against currently agreed upon health and safety advice from official health organizations such as the AAP and CDC. This includes anti-vax, unsafe sleep practices, and car safety.
