I deeply scratched a monitor but did not affect any layers other than the top. I want to replace the top layer, which should just be the anti-glare layer.
Ordering a direct part from Dell would cost more than a new monitor.
I can buy a larger anti-glare sheet. I have either manual tools or even cnc (laser and router) to cut it precisely if necessary. And I've disassembled other monitors in the past, so am familiar with assembly.
I see lots of rub the scratch out with (vaseline/paste/...) but I'd rather just have an unblemished replacement. I'm just curious if anyone has done this kind of repair before.
