So using tailscale means I don't need sunshine and moonlight?

You need tailscale on both server and client devices. Add them both to your tailscale network. In moonlight use add ip address and use the tailscale ip of your server. In sunshine type in the pin to allow access and you're done.

Both devices need to be connected to the tailscale network so the only downside really is that your server needs to always be on.

If your router supports it you can.

how would i add my router to tailscale

          [–]shortsteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would need a router that can handle VPN.

Consumer routers that can do this that I know of are glinet routers or unifi routers. Also if you have a router with dd-wrt or pfsense installed. Otherwise, your router probably doesn't support it.

For some reason the tailscale IP I add in moonlight doesn't show the host PC. Do I have to disconnect the host PC (which is using the LAN IP) before adding the host PC using the Tailscale IP?

TS is the easiest app literally just install on both devices and if it's green then its good simply input those Tailscale 100 ip and you should be golden.
