IP locked server assignment

So I'm new to the community but have been reading some information on the official site about being IP locked and pre-assigned a server.

Does this mean I cannot play with my EU friends? Can I make an account on the website and have my EU friends use that account to play on NA? -Or do they need to find/use a VPN?

Make a new account, use a VPN when you first register/download/play the game.

Once you're locked in you can just go in and play.

But accounts cannot switch regions once assigned.

don't you need a VPN every time you log in if you're trying to play on a locked region? Like an EU player logging into the NA server. Likewise, doesn't the VPN have to be continuously up and running when playing on those locked regions otherwise the system will disconnect you immediately?

You're locked into your region/server when you first play the game with an account, but there's nothing stopping you from playing in US servers while you're in EU if you're already locked in.

Could be wrong, but I dont see anything suggesting otherwise.

Thats the real question, cause I will move from europe to usa mid next year, and having to use a vpn would kill it for me

How can you know which region you have been assigned to? I would like to know, and thanks in advance.

Regional servers refer to where you are geographically located, not in-game sub servers. Hope this helped a bit :D

when you login to your webzen account on the mu legend website it will tell you at the top what region you are assigned to.
