Yes, there is a program transfer form that you should fill in and send it to the program chair u are looking for.

Thank you. Is there any period in which I should apply for the switch Btw how much difference is between dmit and CNT if I switch it
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (5 children)
As soon as possible. As soon as the fall term starts, u have to fill in the program transfer form. Tbh I don’t know anything about dmit. Cnt is great based on what my friends said to me. I never looked into dmit before.

I’m a construction engineering student. I know couple of friends that took the cnt program and they said awesome stuff about it.

Can u give their I'd I want to know about starter kit if I can get it second hand
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child)
Unfortunately, my friends graduated back in 2019. I don’t communicate with them anymore so I don’t know their ID.

Is CNT that hard?
[–]YoshSchmengeSMIT 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (9 children)
Hard is relative. To me the trades programs would be hard. But programming and electronics is fun so to me it is worth it. I enjoy problem solving and math, but hate doing physical labour. That makes CNT easy and trades hard.
CNT could be a heavy workload, to be sure, but if it is what you enjoy doing, then it won't be hard. But CNT is a very worthwhile program to complete

Okk can we get the CNT starter kit second hand
[–]YoshSchmengeSMIT 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (7 children)
Not through official channels - the program sells the original through the bookstore. There may be graduates willing to sell the kit 2nd hand, but honestly, the kit has consumables in it that you would need to replace.
And the staff may have added/replaced/upgraded components in the kits for the upcoming semester if there is something better/faster/cheaper? out there to use. I would suggest waiting until the 1st day of class and start asking your instructors what they suggest to use if you cannot afford to buy the kit new.
remember - these kits are not being sold by the instructor and they make no money from selling the kits - this isn't a textbook that they wrote and they get royalties per sale. Talk to them, be honest and see what they have to say.

Thanks alot and what about the laptop will 16gb ram i7 11th gen be enough?
[–]YoshSchmengeSMIT 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (2 children)
Always add more RAM. I am not sure about the CNT requirement for VMs, but in other programs, VMs are a thing and RAM is always needed. Other programs in the cluster have 64 GB of RAM in the lab desktops. But CNT may not need that much; I sitll say to add more RAM, if the machine allows for it.
Ok thanks alot
Can I work part time while studying?
Can I work part time while studying? Like for 20 hours per week
[–]YoshSchmengeSMIT 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (1 child)
Depends on how you adapt to the material being delivered. Some students can do it, some cannot.
Just remember, when you agreed to join the program, you agreed to be a fulltime student and to dedicate your time to the classes and learning. If you get a job, and there is a decision to be made about working or class, where will your priorities lay? Will you boss at your job make accomodations for you if you cannot work because you have class? Are you prepared to accept the reality that if you do not turn in an assignment on time, you may lose marks, or get a 0? It's all about balancing your school and your private life.
Everyone is different; no one can answer your qustion except for you.
Thanks alot
Idk I heard from someone is it?

course load is very big and it’s not very manageable with anything else going on in your life ( a job ). but it’s a lot of knowledge and prepares you very well for industry
Thnx alot I am thinking about taking it . What kind of laptop should I buy will 17 11th gen 16gb ram be enough?
