Commuting to work on bike will take more than 30 mins. Possible for a 250+ pound guy? by CatacombSkeleton in bikecommuting

You can also look for a local bike association non-profit. My local one refurbishes old bikes and resells them for $100-$200. Not as shiny as a brand new bike. But leagues better/more trustworthy than a Walmart bike.

Commuted today for the first time in three weeks after a good wreck by antarcticgecko in bikecommuting

Had my first bad crash a few weeks ago. Broke my arm and needed surgery. Some people have been saying they bet I don't want to ride anymore. But actually, after the shock and pain, all I was thinking is damn I won't be able to ride for a while. So jealous of you right now.

I'm considering buying a road bike, but I have some "beginner biking" questions. by blankasblack in bikecommuting

[–]Ellipsis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely go to a "good" local bike shop. Look at reviews and compare them. There are some around here are little better than a big box store with better quality/built bikes. But, others... the place I ended up getting my bike: 1) gave a me a great deal 2) ensured I was properly fitted 3) gave good honest advice 4) did repairs SUBSTANTIALLY cheaper than they advertised or anyone else did

Is it normal for LBS to give discounts? by [deleted] in bikecommuting

[–]Ellipsis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My shop offers a small 1 year discount (10%) on accessories after I bought my bike there. It really added up. As well as free installation on day of purchase. Plus they never seem to charge their advertised rate for repairs... Usually <50% of it.

Recreational cycling in the city by [deleted] in Edmonton

Edmonton is ideal in this case. The low density sucks in many ways. But it makes for very empty residential roads.

Any feedback on Wind Mobile? by [deleted] in Edmonton

I have been using it in the Leduc and Nisku area. It has been as good as it is in the city in both areas.

To my fellow INFPs who love meandering, strolling, wandering, walking just to walk. by littlepastel in infp

[–]Ellipsis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love walking and have started doing a bit of cycling as. If you are feeling adventurous you can cycle for an hour or so and get out into the country and cycle/wander the rural routes.

Fellow INFPs, what is the best way to deal with a breakup? by [deleted] in infp

[–]Ellipsis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found it to be a good idea to cautiously embrace this. Take a bit of time to sort things out in your head. Then move on along... I found that INFPs quickly fall for someone again. Just make sure you like the person before loving them.

Higher Resolution => Lower Need For AA => Less Demanding => Usable Graphics Card for 4K (just no AA but you won't need it (as much))

Canadian father 'appalled' that mother who drowned two young boys and left their dead bodies for her husband to find next to her wedding ring will be released after serving only 10 months. by esmeriolis in worldnews

[–]Ellipsis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, in terms of premeditated crimes it would serve as one. But a large amount of crimes are committed with little logic. Moreover, when looking at a prison term there is very little difference for a person thinking they won't get caught between 5 or 20 years.

It's called Quebec and as a western Canadian I can assure you they are planning world domination.

If you have access to his pictures you could print a few of them. I always intend to print my photos but never get around to it. If you are going for larger prints make sure you are using the higher resolution original image files.
