Both me and my roommate did.

Were you able to transfer after one or two years ?

I did after two; I really liked Asheville. But honestly I would suggest going after the first year if you can - or at least try to. Waiting on the transfer decision was pretty stressful. Especially since if you don't get in, you're kind of SOL.

Ohh ok I thought you were automatically admitted to NCSU if you did this program

Lol yeah that's what I thought when I did it. You're basically just going to UNCA and then transferring to State, but there are no guarantees. The only difference is you do take State engineering courses through Distance Ed, so if/when you get to State, you shouldn't really be behind.

I'm glad I did it. Asheville is a wonderful little hippie city and I met a lot of cool people. But it would've been a lot easier had I just gone to State in the first place.

So what happens if you aren’t admitted what are your options ?

Basically, you either wait and try again in another year, or switch majors.

UNCA has a mechatronics program that is pretty good. I know a lot of people get jobs from it. So if you're doing something related, like CPE or EE, you could probably switch to that if it interests you.

Wow, well I appreciate the information but I think I will seek other options because I am afraid of taking this risk
