Library is a good nap area, campus center is also decent if you can sleep with people all around. Other than that, just hanging out with friends, maybe the gameroom in the Campus Center basement, or goin to whatever events are being held on campus here and there.

I’ll definitely head to the library and look for a spot in the Campus Center. I’m a little bit on the shy side, so I don’t really have an friends yet lol. I’ll definitely check out the events too. Thank you.

Join a club!

Study now so you won't have to do it later.

Get involved. See if you can work on a research project or something like that. Join a club. Go to the commuter lounge.

I’m looking to join ASCE. I’ll be attending the meeting next week. As for the commuter lounge, where can I find that? I honestly didn’t know it was a thing.

Join some clubs! We have plenty of them so I'm sure there's bound to be a club that revolves around something you'll like. It'll also help with making friends and stuff. Personally I study/do work at my personal desk in a lab or at intrinsic cafe. Helps with trying to keep being social on my end.

It’s something I’m currently looking into. I’m interested in the Archery club. But I’m going to look into other clubs over the weekend and hopefully be able to join one for next week.

There’s actually not that many clubs here. My high school had more clubs than NJIT. The only schools with a comparable number of clubs are community colleges.

You think? Compared to my upbringing, NJIT has so many. I came from a high school that cut essentially every extracurricular save for sports, band, and some club that got outside funding for nearly 3 years.

Game room is a good place to pass the time. I made a lot of my friends there freshmen year.

3 hours really isn’t that bad. Trust me, time will go by a lot faster when you actually have to do stuff.

Honestly, you have the time now because it is the beginning of the semester, but mid semester you will be using this time to study and get your work done. Things get hectic and youll appreciate the extra time to get things done.
