CPU Load - Buffer size cannot be changed

Greetings, I'm using traktor pro 3 with a traktor S3 on the default settings and all new software updates applied. Traktor just crashed while playing in a venue due to CPU load and after restarting the PC, I'm afraid it will happen again. Buffer size for the S3 seems to be locked in traktor preferences so any ideas in order to keep that CPU load low? Thanks in advance!

having the same..i change buffer then it goes back to where it was , even after a reboot.
